Making our way through the rural countryside of East Iceland we'll travel along the valley of Jökuldalur and visit the Rjúkandi Waterfall before we head to Stuðlagil canyon.
The canyon is one of the largest and most beautiful basalt rock formations in Iceland and has extremely photogenic scenery.
After a nice day of exploring we will continue our travel to the ever relaxing Vök Baths and soak ourselves in the therapeutic water.
This day-long adventure promises to be a harmonious blend of exploration, awe, and relaxation - a truly immersive experience that will linger in your memories for years to come.

Please observe: The hike to Stuðlagil Canyon is primarily on a flat, gravel path, but there are two small inclines/declines along the way that may be challenging for some travelers.

1 Fjarðarheiði
From Seyðisfjörður the road climbs up the Mountain pass Fjarðarheiði.
There are numerous waterfalls and when the weather is good, you have great views.
2 Jökuldalur Valley
The Bus drives through the Valley Jökuldalur
3 Rjúkandi waterfall
The first stop is at Rjúkandi Waterfall in Jökuldalur Valley, where we'll make a short stop and take an easy and accessible walk up to the waterfall. From there we will make our way to Stuðlagil Canyon.
4 Stuðlagil Canyon
Nestled deep within the remote Icelandic countryside, Stuðlagil Canyon is truly a remarkable destination. On the east side of Jökulsá River we go on an easy half an hour walk to the gorge of the canyon. Total time at Stuðlagil Canyon is about 2-3 hours which gives us plenty of time to explore and enjoy the scenery along with snacks and drinks. Most of the summer the water in the river is clear with turquoise colour but in the beginning of August the river changes to grey-ish glacial water.
5 Vök Bath
After enjoying everything Stuðlagil Canyon has to offer we head to the geothermal oasis of Vök Baths. Vök offers Iceland's first floating pools in Urriðavatn Lake, a large pool with it's own bar, steam bath, cold mist tunnel, quality guest facilities, and restaurant Vök Bistro with a view of the lake and the pools with a menu based on sustainability and local ingredients.
